The Group Corporate Controller will be a key member of the Financial management team and will be responsible for leading the Finance function. He/she will develop and empower a high performance team to achieve financial growth and strength as well as setting the highest professional standards as a benchmark.

Reporting to the CFO, this function will provide leadership and coordination of company financial planning and budget management functions and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. He/she must be able to support and take over the responsibilities of the CFO in his absence.

The Group Corporate Controller is expected to provide insightful cost analysis and decision support to our internal customers on new business proposals and rationalization of existing customers/products.  Communicate financial ramifications of these decisions by sales channel and cost drivers.  Educate cross-functional teams on financial implications.  Develop future business models to allow the business to understand impact from both current cost and future cost aspects.

He/she will have general oversight of annual budget, and forecasts, for the categories.  Where necessary, he/she will prepare and present schedules and analysis. This will include coordinating with various cross-functional areas to review and understand cost changes, labor, overhead, sales plans, warehousing, and capital projects. Understanding and explaining the financial performance of the BU’s, cost changes by sales channel and cost drivers is part of the responsibilities.


Your activities

  • Drive consistent costing methodologies and reporting across the Business Units to ensure accurate comparisons between BU’s.

  • Ensure there are appropriate month end close process and procedures in place resulting in accurate financial statements.  Review and improve month end close process and procedures.

  • Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.

  • Direct all aspects of accounting operations, oversee all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.

  • Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.

  • Coordinate all relationships with lending/financial institutions.

  • Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Assist C-level management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.

  • Support and take over the responsibilities of CFO in his absence.

  • Coordinate, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Other finance and administrative duties as required.

Your profile

  • Over 15 years of related experience with progressive management responsibilities.

  • Proven track record of managing and developing staff.

  • Proven track record in driving change and cost savings projects.

  • University degree, RA/CPA qualification preferred.

  • Good presentation, communication skills and experience in engaging & presenting to The Board and C-level management. Able to communicate on all the levels within the company.

  • Able to consistently demonstrate & live cultural dimensions of Simplicity, Focus & Teamwork.

  • Strong understanding of finance and overall strategic business considerations.

  • Strategic and concentrated focus on overall Business, Customer, Cost and Quality
    Have a result and business oriented mind-set, preferably from the commercial view of an organization.

  • Ability to adapt execution in line with business requirements & organization vision.

  • Able to multi-task with relevant focus.
